Secondary Second language
Second language (LII) provision at the CES in the Secondary School
(in accordance with Type II Accreditation to Year 5)
In order to take up a second language, every pupil must have a sufficient level of English. They must be able to participate fully in mainstream curriculum.
In secondary (accreditation to fifth year) pupils can study LII French or German. The European Schools’ curriculum is applied.
There are no interim exams in the European School’s Programme. Students sit the Irish Junior Cycle exam in third year and the Irish Leaving Certificate exam in sixth year.
